To Die Like Christ

(With apologies to Manuel Buencamino, Life In Gloria’s Enchanted Kingdom)

An old priest who lay dying in his hospital bed motioned to his nurse to come near.
“Yes, Father?” asked the nurse..

“I would like to see Budoy Madrona and Jojo Beltran before I die.” whispered the priest.
“I’ll see what I can do, Father,” he replied.

Budoy phoned Jojo after he heard from the nurse..

“Did you get the priest’s request?” he asked him.

“Yes,” he replied.

“I don’t know why he wants to see us but my advisers told me I should go, it will be good for my image daw.” he said.

“My people in the capitol told me the same thing,” he replied,
“Then let’s go together.” he proposed.

“That’s a good idea,” he said. “We can milk the visit.”

The priest’s hospital room was packed with media men when they arrived.

The priest beamed when he saw Budoy and Jojo. He motioned Budoy to stand by the right side of his bed and Jojo on the left. A look of serenity settled on the priest’s face after they took their places.

The cameras were rolling. Everybody was waiting for the priest to say something for the day's news’ soundbite. But he said nothing. All he gave them was a beatific smile.

Budoy finally spoke up, “Father, of all the people you could have chosen, why did you choose us to share your last moments with you?”

The dying priest replied. “I have always tried to live my life as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did. Now I want to die like He did.”

Budoy bowed his head. Jojo wiped a tear from his eye.

The priest continued, “Thanks to you both my wish will come true.”

“How so?” chimed Budoy Madrona and Jojo Beltran.

“Christ died between two lying thieves.”

Macario,

Did he leave a last will and testament? Is there anything mentioned over what to do with those thieves?  I want to know if this crucifixion thing shall be carried out to complete the cycle of events...

As
I know you were not there at that time so you would not know what the will and testament means, You need first to be baptized before you would be able to know the complete cycle of the events.

Achiever,

Those two gentlemen  are extremely lucky.
The muzzle of the firing squad team at BJMP has long been silent; I heard those guns found its way to the Ampatuans . The syringe at the Death Chamber was never replaced for a decade, the lethal mixture simply evaporated in thin air. The Electric Chair is unreliably grounded and its unsteady supports are horribly corroded, I think there’s no way we can crucify those lying thieves.

On second thought, hanging is a tempting choice but it reminds me of William Wallace who died fighting for freedom in Scotland. He met his creator by way of hanging. We’re not going to give those thieves the honor to die like heroes right?

We’re not barbarians anyway. Let the wheel of justice roll. Let’s presume that they are innocent.

One beautiful Saturday morning, I overheard on a coffee shop a story. Two good friends parted ways because of a heated election related issues.  Guy A tried to kill guy B. He went to the latter’s house and entered forcibly on the room of guy A and shoot him while he is asleep. He fled after the shooting but was caught by the police. Unknown to him, guy A suffered a heart attack that night and passed away.  Guy A was dead long before he shoots him. Post mortem accounts confirmed it. Is guy B liable for murder or homicide?

Is this a bar question?. It looks like so. Anyway, if you heard about impossible crime then this is it. You can not kill a person who is already dead. Murder or homicide requires that the person must be alive at the time of the perpetration of the crime. Hence, murder is not applicable because even there is an intent to kill B is not the actual cause of the injury. A was already dead at the time of the murder. Homicide is not applicable because the intent to kill is present. Either way, no crime has been committed. But B can be guilty of attempted murder. Depending on what jurisdiction you are in, the terms of murder and homicide are the same. In PI we have a negligence homicide for example if you run over a person and he or she died.  You call this sometimes, homicide through reckless imprudence. Please be careful out there AS you might be a victim of mistaken identity.

Achiever,

Well thanks buddy. Finally I can heave a sigh of relief. I’ve just shoot one last week. I’m not a murderer after all.

The problem is, I shoot one again this morning. This guy jumped to his death from the 10th floor of a building. But seconds later before impact, I manage to shoot him in mid-air right between his eyes.

This guy owed me a thousand bucks and he thought he can get away with it by committing suicide. Unfortunately for him, I’m a born marksman. I reasoned out that he will die anyway, so why not exact my vengeance in such a fashion.

Don’t worry mate, I’ll try to be cool next time around..  The problem with that guy is he forgot one basic rule:
Rule 1:  Know your adversary
Rule 2:  If you don’t know who your adversaries are, refer to rule 1.

You're an interesting fellow. I think we should forged an alliance come 2013.

As

I admire you and truly have a esteem on you as a military man and a sharpshooter. But to kill a guy because he owns you money is not justifiable act especially if it is merely a thousand bucks.
We have a lot of politicians who seeks vengeance even after the election is over and no wonder they are doomed and do not leave a memorable legacy after they leave politics.
